Tools and Supplies
  1. 2 – Plastic Buckets
  2. 4 – 100% Cotton Washcloths. Old household washcloths make fine application cloths.
  3. 2 – 100% Cotton Diapers or T-Shirts. Just wash and dry before using and do not use a fabric softener on these.
  4. 2 – Fingernail Brushes. These can be found in most Grocery, Hardware, Discount and Automotive Stores.
  5. 1 – Short Hair Detail Brush. This can be found at most Detail Supply Shops or over the net.
  6. 1 – Automotive Clay Kit. This can be found at most Detail Supply Shops. I have personally used “PRO” Clay Products and have really liked them. Order a “PURPLE CLAY BAR KIT” for light colored surfaces and the “GRAY CLAY BAR KIT” for dark colored surfaces.
  7. 1 – Extremely Determined Dose of Elbow Grease. This can be commonly found between the shoulder and wrist.

Preparation
  1. Fill both buckets with water.
  2. In Bucket “A” put 3 washcloths in the water. This bucket will become your bucket for application cloths only.
  3. In Bucket “B” put 1 washcloth in the water. Always keep this cloth clean.
  4. You may apply this polish in the direct sun or in the shade. This will make no difference in the results, but doing this in the sun makes it easier to follow your results.
  5. Wash and blot dry the surface.

Applying Acrylic-Wërks Only
  1. Pull 1 washcloth from Bucket “A”. Wring cloth out completely by hand then fold cloth in half and then in half again. (Note: We recommend you start with a trunk lid, rear spoiler or the upper 6th of the hood until you get used to the process.)
  2. Apply about a half dollar size amount of polish directly to the cloth. (Note: Never apply polish directly to the surface)
  3. Place cloth on the surface in a manner that it forms a diamond in front of you.
    - If you use your left hand pull the corner (1st Base) up and between your thumb and hand.
    - If you use your right hand then pull the corner (3rd Base) up and between your thumb and hand.
  4. Begin by moving your hand in a criss-cross motion leading with the bridge of your pinky and hand.
    - For lefties, start west and then go east, then rotate your wrist so you then can go north then south.
    - For righties, start east and then go west, then rotate your wrist so you can go north then south.
  5. Continue moving your hand in a criss-cross motion until your cloth feels a little dry.
  6. Flip the cloth over and apply about a quarter size of polish to the cloth and repeat Steps 3 – 5 until the surface begins to get very glossy, even through the haze of the polish. (Note: Single Stage Paint will take longer, so watch and see how much color is coming up in your cloth, and keep going until there is little or no color coming up on your cloth.)
  7. Take your clean washcloth from Bucket “B” and wring it out slightly, then fold cloth in half and then in half again then begin by moving your hand in a criss-cross motion. Wipe area in a criss-cross motion, leaving a small trail of water behind.
  8. At this point, take your dry buffing diaper or t-shirt and buff to a shine.
Always work one panel at a time for best results. Remember, the surface didn’t get like this over night and will require time and passion to restore their luster. Also, the effort you give initially will result in long-term compensation with regards to reducing future efforts in maintaining a beautiful finish.
